Preparation

As with any DIY project before commencing the restoration of any tarmac surface is ensure you have the correct equipment and enough materials to complete the job.

Initially take rough measurements and consider the general condition of the Tarmac. Dependent upon condition, 20 litres of Tarmaseal will cover roughly between 40-60sq metres, on this basis you can work out how much material you require.

If any small repairs are required, we can supply easy to apply crack repair and hole filling materials.

Before any Tarmaseal is applied, the surface needs to be as clean as possible, any oil stains should have been treated and loose stones swept away.

The reccomended method of cleaning would be with a jet washer set at low pressure to avoid any further damage to Tarmac If there is algae or moss present on the surface a pre-treatment with fungicidal wash is advised to avoid the need for high pressure cleaning.

If you would prefer your driveway to be professionally cleaned, or you would a contractor to quote on carring out all the work, complete our online form and a registered Smartseal contractor will offer a free site survey and quotation. Alternatively call 01268 722505 for more details.
